“We will develop human resources capable of energetically exploring nursing”

This college opened as the first Nursing College (Faculty of Nursing, Department of Nursing) in Mie Prefecture in 1997, to serve as a base for nursing education and research in the prefecture. Furthermore, in April 2001, we opened the first nursing-related Graduate School (master’s course in nursing studies) in Mie Prefecture, putting in place the foundation of an institution for higher nursing education. This year we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening, during which time we have produced more than 1,500 graduates as nurses, public health nurses and midwives.

A nursing university conducts research activities to establish new knowledge about nursing science, transmits currently established knowledge of nursing science to students, while also exploring nursing phenomena that have not yet been elucidated. Although nursing phenomena can be pursued from various viewpoints, a faculty of nursing will explore nursing from the viewpoint of working nurses.
